What to expect from your Counseling Services

Your evaluation

At the evaluation, we will discuss your options for treatment and I will outline a plan for you. By the end of the first session I will have come up with the core issues and will work with you to decide which of my many treatment options will be best to reduce your symptoms.

Type of treatment

Depending on the frequency, intensity and duration of your symptoms, I will recommend a treatment and will quickly individualize this to you. Sometimes only a few sessions is enough. For more chronic issues, a longer term and more intense treatment plan may be a better choice.

You will have the opportunity to ask any questions and I will be more than happy to answer them. I encourage you to do research and come to sessions well researched and well read. This will make you better able to advocate for yourself and increase your chances of success.

I accept most major insurances and can also do cash pay for those without insurance. If you are not sure, feel free to call as I pledge to do everything that I can to get you the services that you need.  I believe that every person should have access to mental health services and I do not discriminate based on type of insurance or lack thereof.

The mission of Choices is to utilize client strengths to overcome adversity. I use a confidential and non-judgmental approach with a focus on rapport development. I believe that progress is made in a calm and confidential environment.

As a LCSW I do not prescribe medications, however if needed I will refer you to a qualified psychiatrist or primary care physician. I can suggest a variety of different natural and homeopathic remedies. This along with better health choices and a focus on listening to your body will help get you well.

Many people have questions before coming to counseling. I answer many of these in this video.
